Going on a Road Trip with your Mom?

My friend Richard is driving from Des Moines to Los Angeles with his mother in a week for a wedding.  She hates to fly and they thought this would be a great bonding experience for them.  She is 64 and he is 39.  He bought her this for the road trip.  He told me she was not impressed!
